Background

My parents moved our family to North Dallas in the early 1960's when I was in elementary school. In the late 1960's, we bought property in Flower Mound and built a country home where we could have horses. A few years later, we moved to Marshall in East Texas and I graduated from Marshall High School. I enrolled at Texas A&M University in 1976 and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Business Management. I was a member of the Corps of Cadets(Gator 2) and was the Commanding Officer of Parsons Mounted Cavalry my senior year.

After graduation, my business career began in Financial, Operations, Facilities, and Tech Management at various Dallas area based multi-million dollar companies involved in Industrial Distribution, Manufacturing, and Software Development. I moved to Martins Mill in 1999 and began working at Winning Strategies in Canton as the Operations Director responsible for Financial/Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and facilities. Winning Strategies employed, at its peak, more than 220 people in Van Zandt and Henderson counties. I am leaving the company in September 2022 to devote full time in preparing to take office January 1, 2023

Community

Involvement in local community service to others began shortly after moving to Van Zandt County by joining the Canton Lions Club where I have served in almost every position, including President. I became a member of the City of Canton Parks Board where we obtained grants to establish a park on Cherry Creek Lane. In 2005, with the help of the community, we built the playscape that has been a blessing for many children ever since. In 2007 I was a construction captain during the building of the playscape at Lester Park in Wills Point. I am a member of the Canton Texas Chamber of Commerce and recently served as a Director.

I am married to Lori Reese and have a son, Harry Reese.

I am a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was resurrected and sits on the throne in Heaven with his Father. His death on the cross has given me (and anyone else who believes) salvation and one day I will be united with Him in Heaven. The Lord has put it on my heart to seek this office and I am honored to serve Van Zandt citizens if elected. Everything I do is done with the goal to serve and glorify Him. And I believe that includes when serving as Van Zandt County Judge.
